Masterclass Clinician

Chia-Ling (Christine) Lien is a native of Taiwan who began her musical training at the National Taiwan Academy of Arts before moving to the United States in 1982. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from Belmont University and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Louisiana State University.

An award-winning pianist and educator, she received top honors in several piano competitions during her collegiate years and was presented the Gina Robinor Pedagogy Award of Excellence in 1989. In 1997, she founded The Lien Piano Studio in Baton Rouge, where her students have earned numerous awards in local, state, regional, and national competitions. She was named the Louisiana Music Teachers Association Outstanding Music Teacher in 2019.

An accomplished collaborative pianist, Chia-Ling has performed with instrumentalists, vocalists, choirs, and chamber ensembles throughout her career. She has also held numerous leadership roles within LMTA, MTNA, and local music organizations and currently serves as Chair of the LMTA S.O.S. Fund.

Chia-Ling is dedicated to helping every student develop a strong musical foundation while fostering creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of music.
