Join us for this recital spotlighting works by Black composers—voices historically underrepresented in classical music. LAMTA members and local musicians will perform solo and chamber pieces, creating a welcoming space for our community to experience a richer and more inclusive musical tradition.

This recital is open to the public, and as a LAMTA member, you and your colleagues are invited to perform. Performances may include solo, duet, or chamber music. Please note that this is not a student performance event.

If you’re unsure where to find repertoire, Susie Garcia has compiled a list of resources. While it emphasizes late-intermediate to early-advanced solo piano works (with a few concert pieces included), it should be seen as a starting point–you are not limited to the works listed. The resource list does not include duet or chamber music, through those are certainly welcome.

Please keep your selections to 6-8 minutes maximum. For longer works, check with Susie in advance, since the recital is limited to one hour. All participant requests are subject to approval.
