The Lafayette Area Piano Teachers Memorial Fund
The Lafayette Area Piano Teachers Memorial Fund was created in memory of members we’ve lost within the Lafayette Area Music Teachers Association (LAMTA) and Louisiana Federation of Music Clubs (LFMC). These members cared deeply about their profession and gave generously to help improve music learning in our community. This fund will continue to support and advance music education by supporting piano students at the UL Lafayette School of Music and Performing Arts.

Message from the President
Why Lafayette Area MTA?
In 1953, Lafayette Piano Teachers formed an association (LPTA) so that they and their students could benefit from “strength in numbers”. Sixty-eight years later, this organization, called Lafayette Area Music Teachers Association since 2008 – an affiliate of Music Teachers National Association and Louisiana Music Teachers Association – continues to serve music teachers and their students in the entire Lafayette area. Whether you are just beginning to teach or learn music or wish to continue to improve your skills and enjoyment, LAMTA has professionally prepared teachers to lead you where you want to go. And if you’re already a pro, we welcome your input for taking US where WE want to go!
